I just hooked up my combo printer scanner, and I also was just flipping through my old drawings. Figured I'd give scanning them a try. This scanner kicks ass. My old one never could do these pics right, but the LexMark X1185 printer/scanner does an excellent job.

No real story here, just some exploratory work with alien/futuristic style plate armors. Oh yeah, the visor is a special super peripheral vision gadget I give a few of my characters. His is only the partial, some of them have a full wraparound that gives them 360 degrees. Sadly, none of them are in the folder I found.

This is the first all black costume that came out how I wanted. Bladesman is one of my immortal characters. A medeival English guy who found an alien sword that made gave him immortality, super agility, super healing powers, and the ability to repel or attact matter from his hands with great force.
Bladesman is old, and secretive, seemingly humorless. About the only thing he ever shows enthusiasm for is fighting and killing. It's not that he's a psycho (well, he is), just that he needs to get a life.
He has performed many tasks in his centuries, and is currently Roland Latham's bodyguard.

Blitz is my super speedster character. In addition to his great speed (he can jog up to 300 MPH, and has hit Mach 1 before at great effort) and agility (he has on occasion plucked bullets out of the air), Blitz also has a bizarre electromagnetic-based power over metal, the exact nature which is not yet fully understood. He can cause metal to become electrified, heated, more durable, less durable, or even intangible or invisible, if he touches it. He can also make metal explosive. Blitz is rarely harmed by this ability, even when the metal goes off in his hand, because he is actually absorbing molecular stability from the metal, making himself temporarily more durable. Blitz changes color, looking like the raw metal he in destabilizing, when he uses this effect.
Blitz' hair, if I colored it in, would be dark blue. Not a dye job, but the "racing stripe" is. In this pic it's in the middle, but sometimes he puts two smaller stripes on the sides of his hair.
Blitz is a reckless, comic relief/screwup type character (aren't all speedsters. I swear the next super speed guy I create is going to be a Republican accountant Mormon or something).

I need to learn how to draw hair. But at least Cobra has an excuse for not looking his best. In addition to heightened reflexes, supercharges fast twitch muscles, and a powerful regerative capability, Cobra also has a telepathic stun power that he sends out through his eyes. Anyone making eye contact with him is temporarily paralyzed, unless there is something blocking the effect. Thick smoke or polarized lenses work for this. Cobra himself is not immune to his power, and if he catches his eyes in the mirror, he can be stuck there trapped and unmoving for hours.

Random doodling here. The pic is raw and not that good technically, but I like the ideas in it, and it has a cool kinda character to it. Still not sure what I'd ever use a character like this for.

Cyclone is leader of the Elemental,s a criminal gang really just wants to get rich and have fun doing it. Thay're not the most dangerous villains out there, but they're damn hard to stop. His powers include spinning at super speed, control of wind, and flying ambiguously.

One of my forays into multicultural characters. Dervish is a Hindu mutant with telekinetic power.Those funny things on his wrists are special psi enhancer devices which allow him to boost his TK along with arm movements.
Quote: "You should stay down before I am forced to smash you into that wall again, my friend!"

No powers here, but a lot of the most advanced alien weapons around. His rifle is the single most powerful hand-portable energy weapon known, capable of shooting down a lightly armored space fighter or vaporizing a building. It can also be adjusted to fire a weaker beam for much longer distances. He could assasinate someone on Earth from the moon with that sucker if he was so inclined. His armor protects him from most weapons, and also boosts his strength enough to carry this 93 lb. gun. Hardware is a member of the Tylokian special ops military unit whose name translates as The Elite.
Quote: "Any problem can be solved with violence, if you've got the bigger gun."

A earthling with no powers, but an expertise in advanced weapons rivaled only by Hardware and Vek. Impulse is a member of the US government superhero military strike team: the Enforcers.
Quote: "It would be perpetuating a stereotype for me to taunt you by asking how it feels to be beat up by a girl, so instead... how's it feel to be beat up by a normal?"

Quite possibly the most powerful character I ever created. Kenj is an immortal Tylokian godlike mutant whose main power makes him capable of commanding an entire planet's atmosphere. City-sized storms can be created at a whim. Lightning can be drawn down from the sky or projected from his hands. He is also capable of telepathically communincating with and controlling electronic devices. In addition, he has some ability in the more traditional forms of telepathy and telekinesis.
Kenj also frequently has precognitive dreams. Lately, those dreams have intersected with the precognitive dreams of the Earthling Scorpio. A development that both find vastly troubling.
Luckily, Kenj's plots are generally subtle chess piece moving ploys that use his less destructive powers, but when cornered, he is capable of great devastation.
Quote: "You cannot win, Latham, because I have foreseen your fate, dark and wretched that it is. That I too am doomed does not draw you any further from your grave!"

The Narzak are my alien super robot race, and thus is one of their Infiltrator series warrior androids. The main areas where the Narzak come into conflict with Earth and other worlds is cases where someone manages to find and reverse engineer Narzak tech. They hate that, and have been known to devastate entire worlds, casting the survivors into a pitiful dark age from which they can never hope to recover, just to keep their tech secrets. And you thought Bill Gates was anticompetitive?
Quote: "You are not ready to use this technology, pathetic biological, and you are certainly not ready to face it in battle."

Kenj Lar-Xen's nephew who has only aged a few years in the last 5000 years due to relatavistic effects and a malfunctioning hyperdrive.
While he doesn't possess his uncle's impressive atmospheric abilities, he can call forth a tremendous electrical discharge from his right eye, and can slightly manipulate the atmosphere (enough to make fog appear and cause a light rain). Whether his elemental powers will grow with time is unknown. Reflex mainly relies,however, on the power from which he gets his name. Much of his nervous system is superconductive, and this is most evident in his peripheral nerves and unconscious reflex centers of his brain. While his deliberate conscious actions are only slightly faster than normal, his reflexes are fast enough to allow him to catch a bullet. He wears special gloves with fingertips made of an alien metal alloy so that he can do this trick.
Reflex's gloves also have retractable blade cartidges on top of the hands, so that the blades jut just past the knuckles. These are designed to not only be a cutting weapon, but also a focus for his biolectric energy blasts. The blasts he shoots from his eye are still stronger, however whenever he used that, he is temporarily blinded in that eye and disoriented by the massive electrical flow through his head, so he naturally avoids using this attack unless absolutely needed.
Reflex is also capable of mind reading (although the process is quite painfulto both parties and often leaves his scan victims brain damaged) and light telekinesis and levitation.
Having missed the last 5 millenia, his home world of Tylok seems as alien to him as his new adopted homeworld of Earth. Since coming to Earth, Reflex has dedicated his time to fighting crime, often in the most lethal way possible.
It is theorized that, with age, Reflex will become more powerful than Kenj lar-Xen, if he lives that long.
Reflex's eyes are gold and his hair is green.
Quote: "Yeah that's right, I caught your bullets! Now it's your turn at bat, motherfucker!"

Close up of reflex. I made him look a bit too old here, but it's still a fairly good pic. Look at the larger version. It doesn't make him look nearly as whiny as this shrunken version does. Notice the pointed ears, monochromatic eyes, and fangs. Those are all traits of the Tylokian Relklat species.

Scorpio, the English super psychic who can manipulate the super powers of others. With a touch he can turn off, supercharge, or copy almost any psionic or energy based power. he can also overload powers with longer sustained contact. More than one mutant has come after him, only to find his eyes explodings from his optic blast power. Scorpio can also affect the chi of most living beings. In addition he has telepathic powers, a total immunity to psionic attacks and a high resistance to energy damage.
To hide his secret identity as Roland Latham, limey industrialist, when he is Scorpio, he adopts a Scottish accent instead of his English one. He also employs a shapeshifter to take his place at board meetings.
The lighter parts of his costume are red, btw.

When it came time to make a character who turns into some other substance, I thought big. Shifter has 3 other forms: metal, rubber, and crystal. His metal form is super strong and durable, obviously. His crystal form is immune to most energy attacks (he absorbs it) and can fire powerful lasers. His rubber form allows him to stretch as one would expect. He can also becoem rubber, pull or stretch himself, then become human again and retain that shaping. He often uses this for espionage purposes. He has a special alien gadget that he can put over a face to make a mold of it. Then he turns to rubber, shoves his own head in, and turns back. Shifter is the leader of the Tylokian special ops military unit whose name translates as The Elite.
Quote: "As long as I command this team, we will not take such reckless chances. Now does anyone have a suggestion that would not touch off an interplanteray war?"

Slate is another member of Tylok's Elite team. He is one of the strongest humanoids known. At 9 feet tall, and 4 feet wide, his bulk is fairly impressive. But what makes him even more of a powerhouse is the mutation that leads his body to absorb synthetic materials into his cells. His bones and muscles are becoming metal, and his tendons and skin are becoming rubber. Slate is an accomplished assassin and those funky things on his face are the ceremonial markings of Tylok's oldest assassin cult, who worship the Tylokian god of death, Xaenv, by going forth and killing people. Early on this cult realized that they could make a lot of money by offering people the chance to buy their enemies a slot on the sacrifice list.
Quote: "Xaenv, I send another offering to you."

Another member of the Elite, this elfish looking Relklat has the power to conjure forth several types of substances from virtual particles. She can summon glue, a superslick clear fluid that puts astroglide to shame, burning oil, or a freezing gel like compound. The substances form in front of her fingers, and she can cause them to spray out toward her enemies (hence the name). She wears alien plate armor because she's not very durable compared to her teammates.
Quote: "Whoops, watch your step!"

A cyborg with two retractable swinglines built into his wrists. His bionics are made of very lightweight metals. Bionics designed by the same team who rebuilt Whiplash after his accident.
Quote: "For the last time, I'm a killer cyborg, not a goddamn stapler!"

Vek is an immortal, but otherwise non powered Tylokian warlord. He's spent the last 4 millenia fighting and killing. He has no real political goals, but still, once every few centuries he gets this crazy notion to take over his planet, spends a few decades fighting, then gets bored and goes back to mercenary work. Vek used to work for Kenj Lar-Xen in his more mentally stable years.
Quote: "All who stand in my way shall be pillaged and cast to the flames of Xaenv!"

Whiplash was a fighter pilot before losing both arms and a leg to a crash. He was rebuilt as a cyborg with 4 new bionic arms and 2 new bionic legs (the docs cut the other leg off because it would have buckled under the weight of his bionics) and a super durable carapace. Unknown to the administrators of the project, the man who would become Whiplash was not mentally stable, and his selection was due to tampering with personel psych files. The reason for this tampering is unknown, but now Whiplash leads a brutal gang of cyborg (and a couple mutants) mercenaries known as the Death Squad.
Whiplash has a special retractable metal whip in three of his arms. Each has a special gimmick. One is electrified, one is capable of generating intense heat, one is capable of generating a low grade Antipsych field that weakens psi or energy based powers of those the whip ensnares. The lower left arm has a high tension retractable grapple line.
Quote: "I will break you, then I will crush you. Then... you don't want to know."

The following were for a Computer Imagining class project I did in college. These pics aren't as good because I drew these on the computer with a mouse, but you can see the work in color, which is cool.
	Reflex and Slate you saw before. The chick in the jakcet is Flicker, who can teleport, control molecular vibration, and create optic effects. The guy with the funny head beam is Psych-O. I changed his concept quite a bitin my mind since I drew this. First off, now his name is Cranium. Secon, he has a much larger head (his species' brain has 3 lobes). He conceals this with a special "afro" wig. His costume is an overly elaborate disco leisure suit. He came to the Earth dressed as such because his planet is 30 light years away and also because he's kind of an asshole.
	Ugh, early design for Shifter in the middle. What the frel was I thinking?! The guy up top right is Tracker, another Elite agent. He has beastial hunting senses and agility and the power to mentally command plants and vines. The weirdo on top left is a cyborg who is basically energy mutant DNA grown into body parts grafted onto a special reactor matrix. Quite powerful, but unstable. The chick on the lower left is Hyper. Her powers are Super Strength, Speed, Flight and Invulnerability. I envisioned her as being an on again off again girlfriend for Blitz. The weirdo with purple hair is Highwayman. An immortal Tylokian (there's a few of them there) who came to Earth in the 1920's to escape some major fuckup which caused his people to want him dead. Over the years his gimmick was taking American cars, putting alien tech into them and being a badass. In the past he's dyed his hair black, but lately, he's let it be purple because people no longer find purple haired guys so unusual. Highwayman has an Antipsych neural implant which makes him immune to telepathic probes. Unfortunately, when the scientists put the experimental device in, they didn't know that Antipsych is also disruptive to normal neural activity, so the implant periodically make Highwayman go insane. He usually has a sidekick called Gunner, who mans the guns while he drives, but the various Gunners have had a much more important responsibility too... making sure that Highwayman doesn't hurt himself or others when his brain shorts out.
	OK, Kenj should not have been green, but the black wouldn't show up right so I did it this way. You can also see Whiplash standing up, get a better idea of his structure. Waterspout is capable of becoming liquid and commanding water. Pretty standard power mix there. He's also in the Elementals (see Cyclone) Korzaln is an evil Tylokian with the same powers Hyper has (they both got their powers from DNA from the same crazy alien superhuman, it turns out)
	Here's a little comic sketch page. I drew this out and scanned it but the scan was horrible,a s you can see. I wish I still had the original, because this new scanner kicks ass. BTW, I didn't color this. Those funky colors are what the Mac thought I wanted the greyscale pencil sketching to look like. Grr....
